Lake Barambah (Bjelke-Petersen Dam)
Single bird seen on the bank between the dam wall and the second boat ramp. Resting amongst EurSian Coots and Little Pied Cormorants.

Australian Little Bittern
Parklake Wetlands, Bli Bli
Male seen well at the west end of the second lake at approx 8.30am. It was standing motionless in the right hand corner of the lake with head obscured then walked in full view across the western edge of the lake.

One bird among a group of Bar-tailed Godwits, plus the usual selection of expected waders at high tide.

Australian Little Bittern
Park Lakes, Bli Bli
Arrived just before 6am, male seen across 2nd lake (1st lake has jetty) feeding along shoreline at north western end about 20m from large reed-bed to western end of lake. Male flew to large reed-bed where both male and female seen behind reeds initially. After 10 mins male presented in the open as indicated in photo at about 18m distance from northern bank where it stayed for about 10 mins. Birds gone into reeds by 6.45am and not seen again (obs made at intervals till 8am).

White-winged Triller
Hornsby Road, Bribie Island, northern end
Female White-winged Triller seen feeding fledged juv. over a period of 10 minutes , at close distance of 5 metres. Juv. making constant begging call, female constantly locating prey (insects from trees and shrubs) and feeding juv. Unusual sighting for SEQ coast. Field guide used to make certain ID, differentiated from Varied Triller by buff wings, plain unstriped breast & belly, and lack of cinnamon vent.

Male and female seen feeding on a Casuarina at 12:30.

Turquoise Parrot, Diamond Firetail, Brown Treecreeper
Hickling Lane, near Girraween NP
Four Turquoise Parrots seen well. Possibly a family group, with an adult male and female and two juveniles. Three Diamond Firetails and a Brown Treecreeper seen at the same spot, at about 7 in the morning.
