Black Bittern
Louisa Creek north of Woolcock Street, Townsville, Queensland, AU
First time in 20 years of surveying this area that we have seen a Black Bittern between the Woolcock Street Bridges and the North Coast Railway Bridge. Though occasionally we have seen this species further upstream beside Louisa Ck from Greg Jabbs Court to Woolcock Street.

A pair of Pale-vented Bush-hen was first seen on Saturday inside double-pailing fence on quiet side of yard under row of dense vegetation. Seen again on Sunday.
