Southport Pelagic
20-30 Tahiti Petrels today, 1 Gould's Petrel, 300+ Wedge-tailed Shearwaters, 1 Flesh-footed, 2 Hutton's, 1 Short-tailed Shearwater, 2 Sooty Terns, 1 Common Tern and Many Crested Terns.

5:30 - 6:15pm. Tide low.
Red-necked Avocet (1)
Asian Dowitcher (2) After a bit of searching located on opposite bank at bend (channel between islands) in river as viewed from boat access below house several hundred metres upstream of Osprey House. Distant but good views through scope in calm conditions.

Ti Tree Bioenergy Facility, Willowbank
Eight Freckled Ducks on main dam, single Black Falcon perched in a dead tree when I arrived and was still there 2 hours later when I left the site.

Asian Dowitcher
Osprey House Environmental Centre
Two Asian Dowitcher on North Pine River at low tide this am, several hundred metres upstream of Osprey House on river bend. Birds showing well, close to mangrove edge with flock of Black-tailed Godwit, just off small basic boatramp below house, before one flew off upstream towards Tinchi Tamba, so could be worth checking here when birds absent at this site.
Suspect a male and female as a noticable size difference.
Same directions as 8 December. Only thing I would add to the directions/instructions, is bring the aeroguard - the mozzies/sandflies were fierce this am...

Pale-vented Bush-hen, Spotless Crake
wetlands near Corinda Golf Course & driving range, Oxley
A pair of Bush-hens and 4 Spotless Crakes calling in wetlands beside parkland between Corinda Golf Course and the golf driving range, Oxley. Crakes were in wet bulrush-sedge swamp; bush-hens along a weed-fringed drain/creek.

Grey-crowned Babbler

Not the rarest perhaps, but nice to see a single Grey-crowned Babbler in a low bush on the median strip, whilst waiting at the traffic lights at the junction of Paringa Rd and Lytton Rd Murarrie lunch time today.

Restless Flycatcher, Latham's Snipe

Obs from about 1 to 1:30. Lots of domestic geese or ducks have been released (presumably) since I was last here.
Restless Flycatcher (1) One bird calling constantly. Noted call and all white underparts. Perched on the large central island in some Melaleuca, swooping down frequently for a bath in the lake.
Latham's Snipe (3) Two feeding together along shore of largest island. Another bird seen on one of the smaller islands to the left.
Also Collared Kingfisher having a bath.

One calling in swampy watercourse with continuous cover dominated by bulrush (Typha sp.) and/or sedge (Bolboschoenus sp.), early morning.

At least 6 Broad-billed Sandpipers still present today with many common waders. No sign of the Kelp Gull this morning. A large Blue swimmer crab in the roost pond had a halfhearted grab at a Grey-tailed Tattler.

Kelp Gull, Broad-billed Sandpipers
Manly Boat Harbour
Good morning at the roost with the highlight being a 2nd or 3rd year Kelp Gull. Bird spent most of its time on the Island and although it flew off a couple of times it returned each time. Also at least 7 Broad-billed Sandpipers and good numbers of other common waders (see lists).2 Dugongs showed well close to the rock wall.
