Sun 27 Oct Pectoral Sandpiper Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Plant
Start 0616. Finish 0818. A sanctioned visit with FAntram. Still, cold, 1/8 cloud. Submitted from BirdLog ANZ for iOS, version 1.7.1 Pectoral Sandpiper (1) Sharp-tailed sized sandpiper with longer slightly drooping bill. Bill lighter coloured at base, legs greenish. Diagnostic feature was strikingly marked breast with strongly demarcated with white clean belly and underparts. The demarcated breast band turned up at the edges. Head darker and streaked - no hint of rufous crown. Bird kept its distance from, and was not observed to mingle with the 14 Sharp-tails. A poor digiscoped photo attached.

1 Swamp Harrier flying over kellys - harassed by a magpie.

1 Pied Stilt together with at least 9 Sharp-tailed sandpipers on pond 2b. 6 Whiskered Terns on pond 4. All birds observed from the road.

Diamond Dove (1) Flushed from the grass next to the bike path, where it resumed feeding. Possibly an escapee.

One adult White-bellied Sea-Eagle being harassed by Australian Ravens over St Marks at midday.

Sun 20 Oct Red-capped Robin Shepherds Lookout
A single male Red-capped robin seen around 8.30am, close to start of loop track. Uncommon around Canberra.
Observers were a group of around 15 COG/Illawarra birders. Submitted by Sandra Henderson
