single adult Falcon very active over Lion's Head and northern end Sunshine Beach, early afternoon today. BBBQ site still very active northern section of Noosa National Park, adult pair viewed at close range several times past few days, many platelets

R Songlark beside the first pond, L Bittern flushed in second pond, B Bittern flushed in rear pond, 10 Baillon's and 2 Spotless Crakes, WW Trillers all over.

Gull-billed Tern (sub-sp affinis) Oriental Plover
Kakadu Beach, Bribie Island
Amongst the many Gull-billed Terns, there was one adult G. n. affinis! Amongst 16 wader species, the juvenile Oriental Plover showed well - easily seen from the first hide and the footpath between the two hides. Fortunately, no one entered the protected area during the time we were there.

Kakadu Beach, Bribie Island - Protected NO ACCESS to the beach!
The immature is still present this morning. Also Beach Stone-curlews here too.
I am very concerned at the people that seem to be seeing and photographing this bird down to a few meters. It is in a 'No Access' zone to protect shorebirds - roosting visitors and breeding Australian Pied Oystercatchers, Beach Stone-curlews etc.) . I saw it at c.50m and had great views down a telescope. The photos are iPhone digiscope efforts. Please do not enter this area just to get photos!

Long-billed Corella
Between Capalaba and Chandler, on Old Cleveland Rd
There is a well-established population of Long-billed Corellas near-sedentary in central Capalaba, particularly in the shopping malls/Pittwin park area; this species is not native to Brisbane. At about 5:30pm I saw a group of four birds take off from a low tree near the junction of Old Cleveland and Bacton Rd and fly in the direction of the Sleeman Sports Complex at Chandler. The population has been increasing over the years and this may be evidence of expansion, with splinter groups dispersing into the wider area.

I was sitting on the bank of the North Pine River when a Black-necked Stork flew over from the south east. It attempted to land in an adjacent billabong, but was chased off by Masked Lapwings

Single Stork on the edge of the lagoon just past Lesters Bridge. Was a long way off but appears to be male. Photo quality is not the best but there appears to be no yellow in the eye.

Walked from Catholic Church to Emu Park Resort and Backpackers walking through Bicentennial Wetlands and the paperbarks.
Black-faced Monarch (1) In Paperbarks. Saw it catch prey in mid to high part of canopy and watched while it ate . Noted differences in facial pattern with Spectacled Monarch.
