Two interesting sightings at Kellys Swamp this morning, Pied Cormorant (1) White-bellied Cuckooshrike (1)

Sun 6 Oct Masked Woodswallow, White-browed Woodswallow Miller Street O'Connor
30+ Masked and 120+ White-browed Woodswallows were moving noisily northward from Turner into O'Connor, along Miller Street at 13:08 today.

Fri 4 Oct Scarlet Honeyeater Callum Brae Nature Reserve
A single male Scarlet Honeyeater observed at Callum brae this morning.

Fri 4 Oct Pied Cormorant 35 18S 149 10E 1' Cell
Pied Cormorant (1) flew W just above our car - possibly landed on the river. Very large white-breasted cormorant similar in size to a great cormorant, with long bill and long neck.

Red-necked Stint, Whiskered Tern Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Plant
Red-necked Stint (2) together with Sharp-tailed Sandpipers, Black-fronted Dotterels and Red-kneed Dotterels on the mudflats at the southern end of the sewage treatment plan. Also, Whiskered Tern (1) on the main pond.

Thu 3 Oct Common Tern Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Plant
An adult Eastern Common Tern (Sterna hirundo longipennis), still in breeding plumage, was with the flock of Whiskered Terns (approximately 15) at the largest pond at Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Plant this evening until sunset. [Moderator comment: birds observed from Dairy Flat Road as FSP is still a construction site and closed to visitors]
