Ruddy Turnstone, Wood Sandpiper, Red-necked Stint
Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Plant
The highlight of a sanctioned visit to FSP today was an immature Ruddy Turnstone. The Wood Sandpiper and single Red-necked Stint were also present as were just two Sharp-tailed Sandpipers.
According to Wilson (1999) this is the first record since a passage migrant was observed on Lake Burley Griffin on 25 September 1991.
A rather poor digiscoped image attached.

White-breasted Woodswallow, Olive Whistler
Blundells Creek and Warks Roads
White-breasted Woodswallow (1) At the first u-bend in Warks Rd. Flushed from a tree as I got out of the car. White undersides with a dark grey/black tail, sharply defined agains the white belly. According to Pizzey, this is a unique feature. Stumpy triangular wings. Well below the canopy of the trees at around 3-4 meters, it flew off roughly to the south and i was unable to relocate. I was surprised to see this species in this habitat
Olive Whistler (3) Including 1 with a silver band on it's right leg, subtly coloured grey birds with feint white throat patch and buffish wash on belly. [Moderator's comment: This is a remarkable record from unlikely habitat for a White-breasted Woodswallow and, if accepted by the rarities committee, will be the first record of this species for the ACT I believe.]

Just a single bird at Campbell Park Reserve about 100mtrs from the main car park [Moderator's comment: Quite possibly the same bird that was reported on 6/10/13 by two other observers. The only records so far this spring.]
