Introduction to Trips

A trip is just a collection of Sightings, typically Sightings related by
location and time. Trips can be tied together into a Trip Summary. For example,
a two week visit to Costa Rica might be recorded as a collection of trips to
different locales united into a single trip summary.

Trips and Data Entry by Checkbox or Checklist or Empty List:
Perform data entry by checkbox, checklist or empty list as usual.
If the Trip you want to add the Sightings to already exists, select its name
from the Trip popup menu.
To create a new trip, select the Quick Add - Trip menu item from the Action
button.
When the form is accepted, the trip and sightings will be created and all of
the sightings will be associated with the trip.

To create a trip directly:
Open the [Trips] table.
Click on the Add Record button. A new, blank form will be displayed with the
cursor in the code field.
Enter any data you like. As a minimum, you must complete a Trip code and name.
Click the Accept button or press the Enter key. This saves the record and
presents you with another blank data entry page. You can add as many trips as
you like. When you are done click the Cancel button. You will now be presented
with a list of all the trips you just added.
Note that trips created directly will not be associated with any sightings. To
relate sightings to existing trips see Adding Sightings.
