Curlew Sandpiper
Katherine Wastewater Treatment Plant
1 hour survey to see if any other waders have arrived. I was asked by site senior manager if new contruction had affected any arrivals? At this stage, the numbers do seem low, however the new ponds are shallow and obviously attractive to waders.
Curlew Sandpiper (7) Either not seen before or another 4 have turned up.

4000 + Plumed Whistling-Duck
Waterhole - Manbulloo Station Northern Paddock
4000+ Plumed Whistling Ducks. Common species, but published due to large numbers.: Had to stop and have a look on the way to pick-up a canoe tour. Very Hot and dry. Water hole rapidly receding, although will hold water to the end of the dry. Great concentration of water birds (mainly ducks)
Plumed Whistling-Duck 1000's (4-5000) of plumed whistling ducks. hard to sneak up on as they were very edgy, this gave great shots of flushing ducks. Pic shows a concentration, but lens didn't allow to show that this concentration continued to the left and right of the FOV.
