Sat 10 Aug	Channel-billed Cuckoo Palmetum Botanical Garden, Townsville (2) First returns for 2013/14 circling overhead. Ivor Preston
Tue 6 Aug	Australasian Shoveler, Freckled Duck Hasties Swamp National Park Quick visit to check for wetland species. Australasian Shoveler (2) male and female far northern end of the swamp, male well coloured. Also present 2 Freckled Duck. Peter Valentine
Tue 6 Aug	Black-chinned Honeyeater Ross River Dam Borrow Pits Kelso Myfirst sighting in the region this dry season. Ivor Preston
