Freckled Duck Hasties Swamp National Park
Hasties Swamp National Park 4 km south of Atherton. From the bird hide 2 birds were seen roosting on a log about 40 Metres south of the hide. They were in the company of a mixed flock of Plumed Whistling Duck and Pink-Eared Duck. Had them in view for over an hour as they preened and moved about. Am absolutely certain about the identity of these ducks as I've seen this species many times in the past. (Moderator Note:- This is the 19th record this year from this location).

Sun 21 Jul Fuscous Honeyeater Old Flinders Hwy, Woodstock to Ross River Dam
Fuscous Honeyeater heard only near 'Woodlands' end in flowering gum but unable to track down. Call identical to that of the Fuscous Honeyeaters seen several weeks ago at Page Road, at the base of Herveys Range. Included here so other birders can watchout for it.
