Date: Friday, July 12, 2013
Location: Cnr Winchester St & 6th Avenuem St Peters
Red-rumped Parrot (Psephotus haematonotus) (2) First time I have seen red-rumps
anywhere near home. The pair had obviously been roosting on the wooden verandah
supports outside the hairdressers for quite a while, judging by the amount of
evidence. They have been seen not too far away by another birdo, but not for 5
yeas.

Reported by: Phil Barron on Saturday, July 13, 2013
---------------------------------------------
Date: Saturday, July 13, 2013
Location: Nixon Street, Nairne.
Blue-faced Honeyeater (Entomyzon cyanotis) (2) At 11am today l was telephoned
by a neighbour wanting to share with someone the fact that she had just seen
two Blue-faced Honeyeaters in her garden at Nixon Street, Nairne. She is not a
birdwatcher, but has a general interest in Australian wildlife and is a
Bushcare volunteer. Her description of the birds matched exactly that of B-f
H/E; they were slightly smaller than Red Wattlebird that was harassing them,
bright blue patch on sides of face, brownish back, large black bib and white
underparts. I did not see the birds but believe the observer to be reliable.
