Birdline South Australia

Published sightings for the week ending 19 May 2013.

Thu 16 May Shy Heathwren Coffin Bay NP, Yangie Trail
Pair at Middle Well, seen both morning and afternoon. Initially thought it was White-browed Scrubwren (subspecies with striped throat/breast), but call and behaviour were of Shy Heathwren so looked again after lunch to confirm.
Ivor Preston

Sun 12 May Olive-backed Oriole Banrock Station, Kingston-on-Murray
Adult bird(s). More likely one, seen in different locations. First sighting by vineyard on walking trail near gate through feral proof fence. Second sighting (also adult) approx 30-40min later in red gum forest 500km to north (on boardwalk).
