Wed 3 Apr Great-billed Heron Mulgrave River - Toohey Creek confluence
Occasionally I see Great-billled Herons on the Mulgrave River while conducting my training and coching courses. This one is my latest find near the confluence of the Mulgrave River and Toohey Creek, (17°12'54"S; 145°44'44") and is about 1 kilometre upstream of Arnolds Bridge". It is 21.5 km upstream from the Gordonvale Bruce Highway bridge and is by far the most distant from the coast that I have ever seen this species in the Mulgrave River catchment area.
Neville Hodges

Birdline North Queensland is sponsored by BirdLife Northern Queensland and BirdLife Townsville and hosted by Eremaea Birds.
