Fri 29 Mar Pacific Golden-Plover Port Douglas
Pacific Golden-Plover - 26 birds observed on school sports fields at 11:30am. Not usually seen in this number around Port Douglas usually only up to 5 ... and also that they are in full breeding plumage perhaps gathering for their departure.

Thu 28 Mar Little Button-quail Mount Lewis
1 bird about 4 km from bridge over Bushy Creek along track to clearing. These birds have been sighted in this area a few years ago. Photo by Ilkka.

Mon 25 Mar Lathams Snipe Captain Cook Hwy, near rifle range north of Port Douglas
With Del Richards (guide) - Subject to closer look at photos which have yet to download. One in clear view on short grass by cane next to road. Also Pied Heron (6) in small temporary lagoon by Ferrero Road, Port Douglas. This is close to main turnoff to the Port but opposite (west) side of Hwy. Understand unusual here, but even more so was one white spotted hybrid bird (as others have seen too and may have reported).
Jim Allen, Del Richards
