White-throated Needletail, Australian Swiftlet
Rollingstone 10' Cell
Drove north into a flock of approx 100x White-throated Needletails and 5x Australian Swiftlets feeding in a circular fashion (from east to west) above the Bruce Highway just south of Rollingstone Sunday 7:35am-7.40am. Reversed to watch them and had excellent views of white throats and rumps as the birds were feeding only from 2-6 metres above ground level. Melaleuca scrub either side of road. Clear bright morning - 33 degrees later in day. Observers Joan Wharton and Rosemary Payet.
