Area: SA

Date: Wednesday, November 21, 2012

Location: Milang

Great Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus) (8) Four birds off Milang boat ramp 
and several more between Milang and Angus River mouth.

Afternoon visit by Bob and Maureen Snell. Other species of interest were four 
species of cormorant, Caspian, Crested and Whiskered Tern and Great Egret. 
Fairy Martins, Royal and Yellow-billed Spoonbill, Black Kite and about 50 
Black-tailed Native-hen at Angus River.

Date: Thursday, November 22, 2012

Location: second pull in spot behind the Barrage,Barrage Rd Goolwa

Gull-billed Tern (Gelochelidon nilotica) (1) single bird resting with Whiskered 
Terns in shallow water close to the small Island.

Bar-tailed Godwit (Limosa lapponica) (NR) Birds were in the same area as Terns.

Sharp-tailed Sandpiper (Calidris acuminata) (20) Some feeding and some resting.

Location: St Peters

Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus funereus) (1) We have been 
hearing these lovely birds this week, without being able to see them, but today 
3 flew over our house, then later a single bird, heading in the general 
direction of the city or Botanic Gardens.

A rare sighting of a bird common elsewhere - a silver gull was flying low over 
Marden shopping centre

Black-chinned Honeyeater (Melithreptus gularis) (1) A single bird feeding in 
flowering Eucalypts near the 'point' on Island View Drive.
