Fairy Tern (Sterna nereis) (6) Birds were resting on a sand bar along with
whiskered and Crested Tern.

Date: Thursday, November 15, 2012
Location: Vale Park
Australian Reed-Warbler (Acrocephalus australis) (1) Clamourous Reed Warbler
heard in reeds along the River Torrens by the William St, Vale Park entrance.
They were common along this area, but this is first one I have heard in two
years. Reeds have been replaced with rocks because of river bank errosion.

Red-necked Stint (Calidris ruficollis) (1) Approximately 300
Red Knot (Calidris canutus) (1) 100
Red-capped Plover (Charadrius ruficapillus) (1) 13
Banded Stilt (Cladorhynchus leucocephalus) (1) 10
Caspian Tern (Sterna caspia) (1) 4 and there were 2 Crested Terns and 1
Whiskered. 1 Pied Oyster Catcher and about 150 Little Pied Cormorants
Grey Plover (Pluvialis squatarola) (1) 6
There were seveeral other species including Pacific Black Ducks, Silver Gulls,
Ruddy Turnstone, Common Greenshank

Location: Trash Pack, Watson Ave, Netley.
Latham's Snipe (Gallinago hardwickii) (2) Two brave Latham Snipe in the dirty
swamp, havn't seen two here for a few years, usually just the one. Is it the
same bird who comes back each year, or DNA in their young??
Australian Hobby (Falco longipennis) (2) Two Hobby came swooping through the
trees, had a claw fight and continued on towards the pine trees. My word they
are fast!!
