Hi all,
I saw one about 50 meters from Military Road in Cremorne about 1km from the
Harbour Bridge (opposite Woolworth's) several months ago. Got a photo (put it
on Birdline).
Busy street. People everywhere.
There is a mound at Mosman Bay but this guy must have walked through major,
busy roads to get where he did.
Because they are reasonably successful breeders, are they chased out if
territories and have no choice but to move? Similar to say, Cassowary's?
They roost at night to keep out of trouble.
There are many wild and aggressive cats at Pearl Beach where there is a very
healthy population of Brush Turkeys (huge amount if mound building and fighting
at the moment up there).
Tagging them (when they have just hatched) like some do with Great White
Sharks! would be interesting.
Watch them move up or down the coast.
Cheers,
Charles Hunter
