I'd say that they are belligerent opportunists

Some people might feed them but, like Shirley, we had no intention to feedthem fruit cake at Mt Eliot NP in 2003 - they just piled in and helpedthemselves (about 750grams worth we reckoned) while our backs were turned (Iwas changing a tyre and my wife was chatting to me).
