I'd say that they are belligerent opportunists
Some people might feed them but, like Shirley, we had no intention to feed them fruit cake at Mt Eliot NP in 2003 - they just piled in and helped themselves (about 750grams worth we reckoned) while our backs were turned (I was changing a tyre and my wife was chatting to me).
