Is that sort of behaviour a natural result of lack of predation, or is it just because people are feeding them? Peter Shute -----Original Message----- From: On Behalf Of Shirley Cook Sent: Friday, 12 October 2012 8:38 AM To: Ross Macfarlane; David Stowe; Dean Portelli; 'Birding-aus' Subject: Australian Brush-turkey in western Sydney The brush-turkeys at Binna Burra are absolutely fearless thieves! I saw one jump into the back of a hatch-back while the owners were unloading and helped itself to food that it found there. They also grabbed several unopened packets of chips set that we had set out for pre-prandial "nibblies" - brazen isn't the word for it! Shirley Cook |
