Rufous Scrub-bird & Coxens Fig-parrot Border Track, Lammington NP
Scrub-birds heard but not observed near the "20m water" sign, no individuals heard again until on the edge of the escapement when a single bird call right in front of us. some patient stalking provided 10+mins of excellent views , well worth the 14km round trip. Fleeting views of Coxens Fig-parrot, many Alberts Lyres that were easy to approach and the usual mix of Lammington locals.

All birds observed in flight as the two presumed adults repeatly swooped around a tree in which the pigeon was sheltering. After around three minutes the birds circled the are and flew towards the south. S 23 15.234 E138 31.380'

Mon 1 Oct Glossy Black Cockatoos Duck Creek Road and Darlington Park/ Lamington NP, SEQld
A young one calling was great to see and know they are breeding locally. Young one was under the close supervision of a male both metres off the road, not seen for a long time here. Bonus flock of 12 passed over Darlington Park later on heading towards Lamington Ranges pre-empted by raptor type alert from local common birds at park, 14 Glossies a day is fantastic news!
