Location: Port Arthur, YP
Red-necked Avocet (Recurvirostra novaehollandiae) (44) A flock of 44 Avocet
were seen in the roadside pond at Pt. Arthur while driving on down the
peninsula, so stopped to take a photo, as I have not seen them there before.
Banded Stilt (Cladorhynchus leucocephalus) (10) 10 Banded Stilt were also in
the flock with the Avocets.

Date: Tuesday, September 11, 2012
Location: Highland Road, Monarto, South Australia.
Black Falcon (Falco subniger) (1) Seen close to junction of Highland Road and
Old Murray Road. Seen in the same general area by Bob and Maureen Snell on 26th
August.
Bluebonnet (Northiella haematogaster) (3) Three birds flew across Highland Road
and settled in pile of dead timber 50m from road.
Restless Flycatcher (Myiagra inquieta) (1) One bird in open woodland.
Purple-crowned Lorikeet (Glossopsitta porphyrocephala) (1) Sitting with head
and shoulders protruding from hollow branch of dead roadside tree.
Brown Falcon (Falco berigora) (2) Two birds, one very pale, circling at just
above tree top height over road.
Birds seen by Bob Snell and Kevin Williams during a drive along Highland and
Wattle Roads, Frahn Lane, Frahn's Farm Road and Brown's Road, Monarto. Two male
and one female Red-capped Robins were seen close to the junction of Frahn Lane
and Frahn's Farm Road.
