Double-banded Plovers
Manly marina roost
Up to 20 Dpuble-banded Plovers today. Also good nos of Grey-tailed Tattlets, Black-winged Stilts, Bar-tailed Godwits and Far Eastern Curlews. Also a few Red-necked Stints, 1 Curlew Sand, Australian Pied Oystercatchers, Whimbrels & Red-capped Plovers

Up to 10 Lesser-crested Terns at the roost this lunch time, sitting side by side with Crested Terns. Also several Caspian and Gull-billed Terns at the roost,

4 birds. Other good birds today included Black-breasted Buttonquail, White-eared Monarch and Beach Stone-Curlew at Inskip Point; Lewin's Rail, Spotless Crake, King Quail and Eastern Grass Owl at Maroochy River; Red-tailed Black Cockatoo at Gympie

Australian Bustard
Wurba Rd near Springsure.
A total of 33 Australian Bustards in 3 closely adjacent locations along a 1.5 km stretch of Wurba Rd starting about 5 km west of the intersecdtion with the Gregory Highway. 3 separate groups of 2, 17 and 14. On the southern side id the raod close to the open cut coal mine. In the same vicinity were 2 Brolgas and 1 Wedge-tailed Eagle.

Giant Petrel, Lesser Crested Tern (Black-browed Albatross)
North Stradbroke Island
1 x Giant Petrel (believed to be Northern), 150-200 Common Noddies, 50+ Fluttering Shearwaters at Pt Lookout and at least 5 Lesser Crested Terns at One MIle ferry terminal.
Black-browed Albatross reported seen Friday by visiting Swedish sea watcher.

A single Square tailed kite flew over Chapel Hill at least twice during the day

Red-browed Treecreeper
Girraween National Park
A single female heard, then seen briefly but unmistakably on the Underground Creek track. Habitat was open eucalypt woodland with heath understorey. I have seen these birds in similar habitat at Cathedral Rock NP in northern NSW. Made an treecreeper trifecta for the day, with White-throated and Brown also seen

Crimson x Eastern Rosella (hybrid)
Old Wallangarra Road, Wallangarra
Predominantly crimson, but with white cheeks with blue edgings (similar to Pale-headed Rosella), with small patches of pale green on lower abdomen, vent and edges of wing coverts, quite unlike juvenile plumages of Crimson Rosella. Small flocks of both species were seen nearby, not mixed but in close association.

Southport Pelagic - off the shelf
Also 1-2 Wedge-tailed Shearwater (1st July record), 1 Fairy Prion, many Providnce Petrels c.40, 30+ Common Noddy, 1 Giant Petrel sp. Wilson's Storm Petrels, a few Fluttering Shearwaters. Lightening didn't strike twice!
