Published sightings for the week ending 4 Mar 2012.

Sat 3 Mar Malleefowl, Osprey, Hooded Plover Innes National Park
Malleefowl (1) On fire track, north west of Inneston. Osprey (2) A pair at Pondalowie Bay, multiple fly-overs. Hooded Plover (2) Cable Bay

Grey-tailed Tattler, Eastern Curlew, Fairy Tern Port Clinton, Yorke Peninsula
Grey-tailed Tattler (4) Loosely associating with one another whilst feeding on mudflats out from Wandilla Terrace. Eastern Curlew (1) Further south along coast, out from playground. Fairy Tern (40) Roosting on outer limits of mudflats during falling tide, out from playground.

Eastern Curlew (4) Curlew Sandpiper (110+) Fairy Tern (165+) Some juveniles birds -begging seen from a few youngsters.

Fri 2 Mar Southern Boobook Lutheren Churchyard, Freeling
One Owl roosting in amounst the foliage of the trees in the Churchyard. Occasionally being harrassed by the local Honeyeater population!

Thu 1 Mar Square-tailed Kite Altona CSR Landcare Reserve
Square-tailed Kite (1) Seen looking east from Blue Loop. It was being harassed by a Little Raven as it flew south.

A boobook calling quite close to Howard Florey Reserve at 2.00 am.

Tue 28 Feb Pink-eared Duck Strathalbyn Sewage Ponds SA
A midday stop at the ponds revealed eight Pink-eared Duck, along with two Australian Shelduck and three Australasian Shoveler.

Sun 26 Feb Fork-tailed Swift Ballast Head, American River
Flew over mid afternoon heading north. About 50, some quite low.
