Date: Monday, February 13, 2012

Location: Bird Islands Rd, Wallaroo.

Red-capped Plover (Charadrius ruficapillus) (1) Female sitting in the paddock 2
km from the beach. She moved and it was then that I could see she was sitting
on one egg.

I only found the Rec-capped Plover because I was studying these paddocks for
any bird. Surprised to see her, and all of the sitting in the hot sun just for
one egg!!

Would like to be able to go back and see if he sits over night and how will
they feed the baby?

Very low bird count for this Shorebird2020 and Fairy Tern survey.
