Location: Maize Island Conservation Park, Waikerie
Common Greenshank (Tringa nebularia) (2) A pair of birds seen on edge of drying
North Western Lagoon. Also seen on the following three days. Photo taken for ID.
Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) (4) Seen on edge of same drying lagoon.

Location: Seacombe Gardens
Black Falcon (Falco subniger) (1) Whilst driving home I observed a single bird
circling approximately 100m south of Westfield Marion. It then proceeded to fly
slowly in a south-east direction over Main South Road in the direction of Sturt
Gorge before I lost sight of it. First time I've ever seen this species in this
area.

Location: Berri Evaporation Basin
Freckled Duck (Stictonetta naevosa) (20) 20 birds were seen in a mixed group of
Grey Teal, Pink-eared Ducks, Eurasian Coot, Australasian Shoveller. Also
present were Red-necked Avocets, Black-winged Stilts, Little Black Cormorants,
Pelicans Swans and many others. 38 species in all.

Great Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus) (26) 26 birds observed in the area
between the barrage and the small island 100m east of the barrage along Barrage
Road.

European Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) (1) One of a flock in blackberry
bushes alongside the Winter Track. Numerous Red Browed Finches and a Yellow
Faced Honeyeater dining on large unidentified insect in same area.

Location: Lagoon adjacent to Alexandrina Drive, Clayton Bay
Wood Sandpiper (Tringa glareola) (4) Feeding along edge of the lagoon opposite
the Clayton Street intersection.
Freckled Duck (Stictonetta naevosa) (1) One bird feeding with Pacific Black
Ducks.
Intermediate Egret (Mesophoyx intermedia) (2) Photo attached.Great Egret was
also present allowing a size/shape comparison to be made.
Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) (5) Foraging around the southern edge.
Latham's Snipe (Gallinago hardwickii) (6+) 6 birds flushed from samphire
adjacent to the road.(Last week,there were 9 birds observed around the lagoon.)
