Sharp-tailed Sandpiper, Black-fronted Dotterel, Red-necked Avocet Mason Park / Olympic park wetlands
15 short tailed sandpipers at Mason Park 7 Black fronted dotterel at Mason Park 2 red necked avocets from bird hide at Olympic park wetlands

1 Black Falcon, 2 Banded Lapwing, 30 Red-capped Plover

Black-shouldered Kite Long Reef Marine Reserve
I saw a single juvenile bird being chased away from the golf course by one of the Ravens whilst I was on the reef. The bird flew off towards the south. Also seen were a flock of 13 White-faced Herons, a pair of Crested Terns mating, 5 PGPs, 6 Ruddy Turnstones, 4 GTTs and approx 12 Red-necked Stints.

Fri 16 Sep Red-capped Plover Lake George (SW corner inc Lake Road)
12 Red-capped Plovers. (Went to look for the Red-capped Plovers and Australian Pratincoles reported a few days earlier by Ted Wnorowski - both rarities for the Canberra region, especially the pratincoles, but no sign of them, and plover numbers down from the earlier report.)

1 Tawny Grassbird at the Windsor Polo club end of Triangle lane Richmond. Several Rufous Songlarks singing corner Onus and Cornwells Rd Richmond together with Singing Bushlark and European Skylark

Wed 14 Sep Red-necked Avocet, Royal Spoonbill Bicentennial Park
Seven Red-necked Avocet sighted on far shore line. Eight Royal Spoonbill out in the middle of what is called the 'waterbird refuge'.

Banded Lapwing Mason Park, Homebush Bay
1 adult Banded Lapwing at Mason Park this morning along with 6 Sharp-tailed Sandpipers.

Tue 13 Sep Freckled Duck, Latham's Snipe Lake Bathurst (south of Goulburn)
8 Freckled Ducks (may be more) were observed among hundred of other water birds (mostly Grey Teals, Hardheads and Black Swans). A flushed at least 12 L Snipes from the grass near the lake. Little Ravens ( a huge flock) were behaving like waders picking up dead insects from the water near the edge of lake.

Austrailian Pratincole, Blue-billed Duck, Little Eagle Lake George near Canberra
Three Australian Paratincoles in the short, patchy grass near edges of the south-west part of the lake (from the Lake Rd). A little Eagle was perching on the gum tree near Lake Rd. A Swamp Harrier was chasing ducks (mostly Grey Teals - 3000+) . There was one Blue-billed Duck, 8 A Pelicans and few Hardhead among them. Small flock of Red-capped Plovers (32 birds) were feeding on the water edge

Brolga -30.87,148.39 Billeroy Road, North of Coonamble
2 Brolga on the left side heading north. Also alot of Emu around. I counted 53 between Quambone and Coonamble on the morning of the 12th.

Mon 12 Sep Grey Plover, Great Knot Pelican Island, Port Macquarie
A pair of Grey Plover in almost breeding plumage and a Great Knot were seen this morning during the local wader count at Pelican Island by members of the Hastings Birdwatchers Club.

Fri 2 Sep Bourkes parrot Mt wood camp site Sturt National Park
Flock of 10-12 birds came in to drink at the small dam at the camping area right on dark. Came back the next night & in the very early morning.

Thu 1 Sep Channel Billed Cuckoo (& Collared Saprrowhawk) Bobbin Head Rd, Turramurra
10am - Just had a pair over my house in Turramurra. This is my 3rd earliest record in 13 years here. Normally, I have to wait 10 days after the first Sydney records before they appear here - this year it is only 6 days. Also a Collared Sparrowhawk overthe house approx 8am this morning

Circling the buildings around number 1 Bligh Street and Bent Street, Sydney CBD. Been there the past 3 weeks. Lands on the floors of Governor Phillip or neighbouring building.
