Sat 17 Sep Pacific Golden Plover Alice Springs Sewage Ponds
Single bird still with remnants of breeding plumage. Seemed to be staying around the souther end of A6 and EP7.

Caspian Tern Alice Springs Sewage Ponds
2 birds circling low over ponds EP7 and EP10 this afternoon. Very exciting as this species is infrequently recorded here.

Wed 14 Sep Bourke's Parrot western edge of Kata Tjuta National Park, Yulara.
A group of 6 Bourke's Parrot, 2 Mulga Parrots and 2 Budgerygars were seen roosting in the one dense bush on the Docker River Rd, KTNP. In 8 days of travel only two small flocks of Budgerygars were seen compared to the same time last year when the Budgerygar was the commonest bird seen!

Tue 13 Sep Red-tailed Black Cockatoo Kings Canyon Resort
A flock of 177 Red-tailed Black Cockatoos flew over the resort at approx 700 hrs. These were the only RTBC seen in an 8 day trip trip from Alice Springs to Yulara via the Mereenie Loop and Kings Canyon. A large flock of this isolated race of the RTBC.

Red Knot Alice Springs Sewage Ponds
2 adult birds in partial breeding plumage. One bird has an orange flag on its right leg with what looks like the letters "MK". They seemed very loyal to pond A6.

Sat 10 Sep Dusky Grasswren Simpsons Gap, West MacDonnell ranges
A pair of Dusky Grassrwens were seen on the western side of the pathway that leads from the car park into Simpsons Gap, just before you enter the gorge.
Janene Luff & 9 members of a Follow That Bird tour

Fri 9 Sep Red Knot, Orange Chat Alice Springs STW
A return visit for 1.5 hours on Friday afternoon, found in addition to the Wood, Common & Sharp-tailed Sandpipers, 2 Red knots, one with a metal band on the left leg and a yellow flag on the right leg with the letters in black "MK" on the flag. Also seen were 8+ Orange Chats, 8 Australian Pratincoles

Thu 8 Sep Wood Sandpiper, Black Falcon, Gull-billed Tern Alice Springs STW
Two hours spent there in the afternoon produced 37 species including 6 Wood Sandpipers, 4 Common Sandpipers, 6 Sharp-tailed Sandpipers, Banded Lapwing, good views of a Black Falcon, Black-tailed Native-hens & c. 30 Avocets.
