Woohoo, possibly the first photographed rarity from Cyclone Yasi.
Wikipedia says it migrates from Siberia to SE Asia / Indonesia. It
must have been seriously out of the way to start with to be picked up
by a system motoring in from Fiji.

G'day,
I have posted a couple of poor pictures plus a description of the
sighting and the bird on my blog http://alanswildlife.blogspot.com/2011/02/terrys-strange-thrush.html
I would be happy for second opinions.
It has been hanging around the same place for two days now though
it is not easy to see and sometimes not easy to see clearly. It took
me more than 2.5 hours over two visits to get a few glimpses. The
location is on the private property of Terry and Michelle
Heidenreich near Malanda, 370 Stonehouse Road. They are happy to
have visitors, just call at the house or the flower packing shed for
directions to where the bird has been seen. They rarely answer their
phone.
I'll be out most of the day so not much point in trying to ring me
either.
Regards,
Alan
