No one seems to have heard from Bill and Eileen. And now I have just
read that there is an evacuation order for Dayboro, which is where Tom
lives. Tom, are you OK?
Here in Beerwah (Sunshine Coast hinterland) we are cut off, but so far
are managing to stay dry. I've been brooming the water past the front
door to keep the house dry. Still pouring, but hopeful. Very worried
about Bill and Eileen. Tom?

Tom, et al,
Sorry about the truncated previous post. As I said, they have had
approx. 100 mm in that area since 9 AM. I have just looked at the Sydney
Morning Herald website and there are terrible scenes of water and damage
throughout the area. Communicar=tions will be difficult with all that
water in the Telstra system. I just hope that those who built Wivenhoe
Dam knew their stuff, with what Anna Bligh describes as "an 8 metre wall
of water" heading towards it, and it is at 140% capacity. It certainly a
dark time for a lot of Queenslanders and my thoughts are with all
affected. A terrible, terrible disaster.

Has anyone heard from Bill & Eileen Jolly or John Hadley? I'm hoping that
they have been evacuated but they are in the thick of it at the moment.
Fortunately have spoken to Michael Atzeni from the Helidon area, he is OK
but the power is cut.
If anyone hears any more news can you keep us posted?

If anyone has any news from birders in the Lockyer
Valley/Helidon/Toowoomba
area would be great to hear from you.
I've tried to contact several individuals and heard nothing, apparently
Grantham is a disaster area, houses have been swept over a kilometre.
I'm sure that you will be seeing reports on the media in the coming hours
but be prepared for some bad news.....
