I'm now convinced, Common Wallaroo. I am not convinced that they should be
on the island though.

Subject: Request for ID assistance - macropod - extra
photos
Hi,
So it's most likely to be Euro / Wallaroo. That's what I was wondering.
Though still a chance of Eastern Grey.
Here are some pics of the animals off the web:

G'day Simon,
It looks like a Euro to me, so probably introduced.
Cheers Jeff.

Hi,
I was wondering if somebody could help. I've got this trip
http://aussiebirding.wildiaries.com/trips/10263 to Daydream Island from a
few years back. Locally, they refer to the macropods as "rock wallabies"
but
there's really only two types that could occur: Proserpine and Unadorned.
The animals have some striping in the tail and black tail-tip but are
generally plain coloured. They don't look like rock-wallabies facially -
more like kangaroos, but they are not big enough.
Anyone have any knowledge / suggestions about what these are?
Regards,
Simon.
