Mon 12 Jul Golden Bowerbird Paluma, Birthday Creek
3 males spotted at Birthday Creek and 2 others were heard on a great day
which included many "first sightings" for me. 1 male was observed at a
often visited well established Bower. Unseasonal presence. Moreso expect
to see males at bowers October to January.

Sun 11 Jul Southern Cassowary Wallaman Falls Cell
Two adult birds seen together 5 km east of the campsite crossing
Wallaman Falls Road.

Glossy Ibis, Baillon's Crake, Cotton Pygmy-goose Pentland
The dam was teeming with birdlife; I counted 80 Cotton Pygmy Geese on
the nearside, more were in the reeds; very active in the early morning
flying into and around the dam, dominating the dam bird lifne the
Baillon's Crakes were feeding in the open, and relatively tame; Glossy
Ibis feeding in the muddy shallows. Both species of Whisting Duck, Wood
Duck, Black Duck, Coots, Moorhens all in good numbers. In all, something
of a bird spectacle.

recorded. Previous reocrds in the area.
