Hi Michael, 'Tawny Frogmouth' is a shortened version of the original 'Tawny-shouldered Frogmouth'. Although males are usually very grey they do have tawny brown 'shoulders' (wing coverts) and females tend to be overall browner or redder than males. Greg Clancy Ecologist Coutts Crossing |
