Not just a conspiracy theory. I occasionally use Outlook WebAccess webmail,
which only delivers full functionality when opened in Internet Explorer (you
only get plain-text emails in other browsers.) The program gives you a proud
message to this effect when you use another browser. It is Microsoft's own
software so fair enough I guess, although I suspect they're just alienating
a few more of their customer. End result: I use IE8 for that application,
and Firefox (which is waa-aay better) for everything else...
