Hi,
I wouldn't take it all too seriously. Animal clocks have been around for
many years. Our enviro group meets at my place monthly for committee
meetings.
There are always cackles of laughter when we start:
President: Time meeting started?
Sec: A leopard past an antelope Mr president!
But a clock with Australian birdcalls? Wouldn't it have to start at
around 4am? Kookaburras would have to sing right on sunrise and so would
change during the year.
But to make it truly authentic koels would have to call every five
seconds all the way through spring.
For an alarm tone, what better than a sulphur crested cockatoo?
Cheers,
Peter

Is nothing sacred? An unwanted mail-order catalogue in our letter-box today
includes an adv. for a "Bird Clock" - "Hear bird calls on the hour!"
Hours represented by paintings of Australian birds. Kookaburra top centre.
And "Bird sounds from 8AM to 7PM". First bird-call not until 8AM?
Disgraceful! (But at least they "can be turned off by removing battery")
Syd
