Hi bird people,
Whilst at Hattah Kulkyne NP in north west Victoria this week I had good views
of a Rosella fitting the race subadelaidae cavorting with a typical Yellow
Rosella flaveolus next to Lake Hattah. The bird had extensive red on the head
and breast, but otherwise looked much like a Yellow, apart from being a
SLIGHTLY darker greeny yellow above.
It matches the drawing of subadelaidae in Hanzab, but perhaps with more red
than that picture.
I read this race is the most northern found in South Australia.

I'd be interested in people's thoughts on the liklehood of this being a
wandering bird from SA, or a natural variant amongst the Victorian population.
I've never seen a bird like this before.

Cheers,
Simon Starr.
