ABC Stateline (Queensland) has just broadcast a segment documenting
the destruction of the vegetation on the breeding island established
in Lake Apex (Gatton) a few decades ago. Apparently rapid council
decision-making resulted in workers cutting down all the trees that
the birds bred in.
