Dear Birders,
A web-cam has been set up beside a Sea Eagles nest close to the Birds Australia
Discovery Centre at Newington Armory in Sydney. The birds are coming and going
very regularly and have been adding fresh leaves to the nest suggesting that
laying might well occur soon. The display from the web-cam can be viewed at the
Discovery Centre on weekends between 10 am and 4 pm. If there is no immediate
action when you arrive you can scroll through archived clips of the pair of
birds bringing food to the nest and consuming it and a variety of other
activities.

Many thanks to some very enterprising volunteers from Birds Australia with the
help of SOPA for making this happen.

There is also a very interesting display at the Discovery Centre on the theme
of "Birds in Backyards" in addition to the extensive library of birding books
that can be browsed by all and from which books can be borrowed by members of
recognised bird clubs. There is now a very good cafe on the wharf at the Armory
making it a great place for a days outing for all the family. To find the
location go into Googlr maps and search for "Birds Australia Discovery Centre"
Regards
Peter Marsh
