Hi everyone

I would like interested parties to contact me to conduct a survey of the
old Air Services Site at Cranebrook, which is under the protective hand of
Penrith Council at present, but still there is a risk of development if his
majesty Sartor wants to overrule the council?s decision. (I am not exactly
sure how the system works)

Anyway, I contacted Geoff Brown of the ?Save the ADI site? fame and offered
to get some bird enthusiast involved to help promote this piece of Cumberland
Plain woodland. http://www.savecranebrook.com They are trying to promote
this to be declared a regional park.

Not knowing about surveys, I would think of a group of folks splitting into
say twos or threes and taking a designated area (TBA) and use a local checklist
of birds and record the info and whatever else is pertinent. I am also drumming
up interest via our nature photography forums http://australasiaforum.net
so enthusiastic nature photographers like me and others may/will be available
as well to capture the beauty and provide the avian images to help the campaign.

Please drop me a line via e-mail if you want to get into it. I have a few
interested persons already. Now there surely are Speckled Warblers here,
as they are also at CNR up the road. :)

Best regards

?kos
