I fed our Sparrows, Turtle Doves, Murray Magpies, Blackbirds, Magpies,
and Little Ravens this morning with some old Apple Crumble and Quiche.
They went bonkers over it. How's that for being naughty ?

Only one NH H/E juve left now, and that looks like leaving at any tick.

I've seen this behaviour but not associated with feeding. I got the
impression the bird was just soaking up the sun, or maybe 'anting'.

As to the original post, A friend of mine had a turkey last year make
a mound in his front yard and he scraped every single leaf out of the
back yard and up the driveway to his mound, at least 20 or 30 metres I
guess.
