Birders,

A comrade from Canada is coming out for a conference in August and I
offered to show himw around. I thought I'd impress him with my broad
knowledge of the birds in Lapstone, Glossies, King parrots, all the
stuff I know about. So I asked him if there was anything he was
particularly interested in. Nightjars was his response.

So, where in Western Sydney (maybe as far as Capertee?) should we go
for some banging about in the bush at night listening for noises?
Castlereagh NR seems a pretty good option. WIth some luck our local
Tawny will be sitting on the roost, but if not? Could go for one of
the Sydney Powerfuls. But as far as I can tell, you don't find the
Nightjars/owlet, you bump into them. Any ideas where to start?
