White-throated Nightjars have been reported in north-east NSW in August and
I observed one at Coraki last Thursday. If Evan's friend is attending the
Raptor Conference in Coffs Harbour in August he will probably attend the
field trip which most likely will involve some nocturnal observations.
Owlet-nightjars are common and can often be heard, particular during owl
playback, but are much harder to observe.
If anyone is interested in attending the raptor conference they should check the Australasian Raptor Association's website. Greg Clancy |
