Laurie/AusBirders I have just received the American Birding Assoc. Big Day and List Report for 2007 which includes the Australasia region that covers Australia, New Guinea and some of the nearby islands but not the Solomon Islands or Bougainville. The checklist is based on the Clements Check-list outside the ABA area. Chris Doughty of Australia heads the life list with 1009. However, there probably are non ABA members that have a higher species total. BTW the ABA member with the highest world list is Tom Gullick of Spain with 8,702 and Jon Hornbuckle of the UK coming in second at 8,386. Dean Cutten Victor Harbor, SA Australia |
