Looking at the NSW Birdline at work this afternoon, came across a record of
Scarlet-chested Parrot from near Kyalite in SW NSW from last weekend. Does
anyone have any more details (or contact for Colin T. Richardson). The BirdLine
indicates that the NSWORAC will try and confirm the record so details may
already be being chased up. As well as being interested in seeing the bird, the
records for this species are few and far between (1979 as "the Lower Darling
River" is the last) so I am interested in getting details for my work as
Biodiversity Conservation Officer.
I went for a bit of a forlorn looks for the same species in Murray-Sunset NP
last weekend (in the end I chose the wrong part of the 80+km Pheeny Track), but
I am hoping enough time in the mallee down here will stumble across this
species.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Peter
