What about someone contacting the local paper with the story. I think the surrounding community needs to know what is going on. I'm sure Nevil Lazarus would be able to supply a suitable photo. I realise the owner got away but I was trying to alert birders to the fact that these laws exist. Publicising them may help. It seems to me that many birders are unaware of laws designe to protect wildlife especially those in relation to which species are listed as threatened and penalties for their destruction. As for BSC and urban environments there are some close to habitation on the central coast of NSW (including nesting in someone's yard) but elsewhere in NSW they are very scarce. Paul |
