I bought a pair of Pentax 8x43 DCF ED binoculars from Bintel in Sydney
about 6 months ago. They cost about $1200 but I received a discount by
being a member of Birding NSW and they cost ~1100. I could have bought
overseas on the net for USD900 however I bought locally as when I
calculated shipping and duties (calculated as another poster has
mentioned on the price + shipping cost), there was not much in it,
less than $100. Buying locally I have someone I can take the
binoculars back to if they have a problem and I received very good
service from Lilly at Bintel who helped me make an educated decision.
