The Canon S5 IS has a hot shoe. No idea how they compare otherwise, but if external flash is a consideration then the FZ18 is out. Some reviews of recent cameras I've read lament the continual increase in pixels, arguing that this increases the noise in the images. No idea how that applies to the S5 compared to the S2, or any other brand. I once read that Canon wanted to stop at 6MP, but how can any manufacturer do that when customers always buy the one with the most pixels?
