Dear all

Two to five Swift Parrots seen today (26 Oct) feeding and resting in gums at
Widdop Crescent Reserve, Hampton East (Melway 787 C6, approx 37o 56' 24" S
145o 1' 42" E).

The trees involved were think a River Red and Sugar Gum in the reserve (in
the NE corner roughly behind the shops) and a Spotted Gum in a garden.
There is plenty of blossom so they (plus a few Musk Lorikeets) may stay
despite the strengthening northerly expected tomorrow,

Ian Parsons took some photos but the conditions were difficult: 100%
overcast with hazy sun, and the birds mainly near the tops of the trees.
They were active when I first found them about 1245, with both "clink-clink"
calls and song, but quiet when I left at 1330.
