From my wife Lisa this evening; I saw the curlews at about 5pm when I was riding down through the carpark. They were all very active and excited about something. that is, they were standing in a half circle in the shade of a tree, looking very tall and making noises. a group of 3 were standing in the road, walking quickly at each other and whooping. one almost flew to get away from a car coming up the drive. The carp ark is the Harley Teakle carpark where they are usually found. She described the noises as a 'kind of a high pitched whooping', her imitation of was a series of high pitched rising notes. regs scot =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.comTo unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
